Between February and June, we collaboratively collect gifts local businesses, organizations, and individuals want to donate to dads who need to spend Father’s Day in a local pediatric medical facility to care for her child who has a complex medical condition. Eliana’s Light combines all the gifts into gift bags that we deliver to our partner medical facilities: Children’s National Medical Center, The Children’s Inn at NIH, HSC’s Pediatric Center, The Kennedy Krieger Institute, John’s Hopkins’ Children’s Center, Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, Medstar Washington Hospital Center, and Inova Children’s Hospital.
If you are a local business that sells a wellness-related item (e.g. healthy food, good coffee, exercise equipment, etc.) or provides a wellness-related service (e.g. massage, hair cut, etc.), please let us know if you can make a donation to this effort. We’re always excited to partner with local businesses that want to make a positive impact in the community in which they work.
If you are a member of our community, and would like to help us find local businesses that would like to contribute and/or make the packages for dads, please contact us. We're seeking donations of gift certificates in $10 denominations to places like Starbucks, Dunkin', Panera, Chipotle, CVS, and Walgreens, and also gas stations that have locations close to the participating medical centers in DC, MD, and VA. We also welcome toiletries, foot massage rollers, and similar self-care items dads may use. We'll then use them to fill 600 total gift bags.
We look forward to collaborating with you to support local dads! Please email info@elianaslight.org to let us know your interest. Thank you!
We’re so grateful to the individuals and businesses that have already confirmed their contributions!
